annual cultural unity day of 2019

today is cultural unity day at school we had an assembly and we had 1 minutes of silence from the shooting at happened last friday.

in the assembly we sang the song under the Southern skies and then my friend Luca's dad came and told us a story about a fox outsmarting a bear the story was about a fox that was really hungry in the snow and it found some fish in someone's van then he took six of the fish and the Bear was hibernating then he smelt the fish and tried to get it but the fox won.

the food was really nice I had 2 sausage rolls one hot dog 1 piece of watermelon and some popcorn.

solar system for augie's family

this is my wonder solar system of augie's family
i think using curve is a real help for the  eyes and mouth

this is my wonder wk 5 activity

some things that i found useful is researching the characters personalities so i could remember the things that they would do.

visit from the power company vector

On monday the 11th of March 2019 the power company Vector came to Owairaka Primary School to talk about saving power and types of power there is in the world.
Did you know 0.1% of the world's power comes from solar energy and... 63.5% is made from hydro energy
We also learnt about  non-reusable and reusable electricity

There is only one non reusable source of energy
and it is... fossil fuels which are oil coal and natural gasses

The reusable electricity's are...

wind-heat and frost
geothermal-boiling water
solar-the sun
hydropower-water
and biomass- there are many things in biomass such as
garbage,wood,crops,alcohol fuels and landfill gas that is the stuff I remember from the visit
